Description

The Vuk Playground is a magical, themed playground located in the 1st district of Budapest, on Gellért Hill, at the corner of Bérc Street and Szirtes Road. The playground was created in memory of Attila Dargay, the director of the 1981 animated film "Vuk." The main attraction is the "Fox Castle," a tunnel system where children can climb and explore the area. The playground features statues of characters from the story, including Vuk, Karak, Unka, Szú, Vahur, and the geese. In 2023, the playground underwent renovations, including the renewal of rubber surfaces and the installation of new artificial turf areas. The playground also includes a climbing slide, swings, spring toys, a shaded sandbox, and a giant chessboard. Situated under shady plane and chestnut trees, it provides a pleasant temperature even during summer. The playground is free to visit and is open from 8 a.m. until dusk. Nearby, you'll also find the Cerka-firka Playground, making it possible to plan a full day of activities in the area.
