Description
The Gellért Hill Slide Playground is one of Budapest's most unique and popular playgrounds, located on the southern side of Gellért Hill, between the Citadel and Gellért Square. Originally built in 1967, the playground underwent a complete renovation in 2017, offering a modern, safe, and exciting play experience for children. The main attractions are five different types of slides, including wavy, twisting, and tube slides, all integrated into the hillside for added fun. In addition to the slides, the park features climbing structures, rope bridges, trampolines, nest swings, spring riders, and sandboxes. The terraced design of the playground allows children of various age groups to play safely, while the rubber flooring and shade-providing trees ensure a comfortable and secure environment. A drinking fountain and public restroom are available nearby, although the latter's operation may be intermittent. The playground is easily accessible from Gellért Square via stairs or marked hiking trails. Open year-round, the playground is free to use and offers enjoyment not only for children but also for adults, who can relax with a picnic or admire the stunning panoramic views.
